Properties beforeproperties itemupdating
About a week ago I wrote an article about the “Content Organizer” feature of Share Point 2010.
The “Content Organizer” feature makes it possible to route all kind of different information within your Share Point site.
If a field is changed the method will return true to indicate that the files needs to be submitted to the Content Organizer.
The above method performs the actual submitting of the file to the Content Organizer by calling Official File Core. This method will return an Official File Result to indicate whether the submitting was successful of not.
These two values hold the value of a field Before and After the change event (either an add or update).
I’ve done some testing and the results are presented in this post. The test is performed when adding/changing/deleting the item’s user field using the UI (New and Edit form) and when adding/changing/deleting the field pragmatically.
I hear you asking how can I submit a file for routing.
Let’s take a look at the Item Updated receiver I have written.
Is Submitter(web)): In this method Microsoft checks if the current user is in a specific group to allow the submission of the file.
If you are not in this group Microsoft will return an outcome of Not Found. This event receiver will run on the Item Updated event.
